Job Summary: 
The Program Administrator is responsible for providing managerial leadership for administrative aspects of the Master of Health Science in Anesthesia program. This position is accountable for ensuring that the integrity of Bluefield University and ҹɫ���� standards relative to the MHSA Program are maintained and manage designated administrative aspects of the Program. Maintain relationships and provide administrative guidance and support to affiliations, programs designed to maximize support for program. The Administrator assists with development and implementation of program strategies and developmental plans, and provides accurate database development, data collection and management.  
 

Salary Range:  $59,000  - $63,000

Required Qualifications: 
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field

Experience:  
•    Minimum of three years of experience in higher education, academic medical environment, or business administration
•    Problem-solving ability and extensive knowledge regarding all phases of basic science and clinical education
•    The ability to evaluate program applicants, support systems and faculty
•    Knowledge of academic and clinical curriculum design, accreditation standards and applicable strategic planning models
•    Proficient adult education skills
•    Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, internet, and basic website management

Job Summary: 

The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Master of Health Science in Anesthesia Program will serve as an initial contact person for the Master of Health Science in Anesthesia Program (“MHSA”) of the ҹɫ���� Auburn Campus and the public, professionals, and students of the Program. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our faculty and staff, assisting in daily office needs, and managing our Program’s general administrative activities.

Required Qualifications:   

Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution preferred or equivalent experience including:

• Advanced understanding of the entire Microsoft Suite; the ability to produce and manipulate reports, manage large databases; and largely the ability to quickly respond to ad hoc, short notice requests by Administration.
• This position will also require strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced office environment.  This position will demand that the individual be self-motivated and detail oriented, with the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.

Job Summary: 

Teach Clinical Physiology and Pathophysiology to Anesthesiologist Assistant students and actively participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the Dean; develop, teach, monitor, and evaluates courses in the basic science, clinical, and simulation/skills development aspects of the graduate program; act as a resource for professional and community connections for personal and professional development; act as an academic adviser for the students and mentor for the comprehensive examinations; remain current in professional area of interest and participate in professional societies and activities, participate in all assigned, required, as well as other related professional services and activities in the MHSA Program.

Salary Range: $ 80,000 - $110,000

Required Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited program in Anesthesiologist Assistant or Nurse Anesthesia, master’s degree or higher, with relevant experience in teaching Physiology lecture. 

Licensure: Professional certification as an Anesthesiologist Assistant through the National Commission for the Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) or National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA); valid professional state license in good standing. 

Experience: 

• Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in anesthesiology or closely related field
• Teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level
• Organizational committee participation
• A record of community experience
• Ability to mentor students

Job Summary:

The Discipline Chair will serve as the Course Director for the Pharmacology course and for content in the Discipline in the Clinical Medicine course small group cases. The Chair will teach medical students Pharmacology across a two-year preclinical curriculum, to conduct research and scholarly activity, and to provide service to the institution. The Chair will also coordinate and integrate the basic science discipline with the clinical curriculum and work collaboratively with the Virginia, Carolinas, and Louisiana campus faculty to ensure that the learning objectives, curriculum, and testing methods are consistent across campuses. The Chair will provide leadership in research together with the Virginia, Carolinas and Louisiana campuses, and assist faculty in the discipline and related disciplines in grant writing efforts to seek extramural funding.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000

Required Qualifications: 

Education: PhD in Pharmacology or equivalent degree, a PharmD degree, or a DO or MD degree with relevant experience in Pharmacology teaching

Licensure or certification: N/A

Experience:

•    Achieved (or eligible for) the rank of Associate or Full Professor
•    Publications in peer reviewed journals
•    A strong record of university committee participation
•    A record of community service
•    Ability to mentor students
•    A strong record of scholarly activity that includes development of /participation in a research program
•    Postdoctoral experience in a field of biomedical research
•    Teaching experience at the graduate or medical school level

Teach all assigned coursework to Anesthesiologist Assistant students, lead the design and oversight of the skills and simulation-based learning activities and actively participate in curriculum development in collaboration with the Dean; develop, teach, monitor, and evaluates courses in the basic science, clinical, and simulation/skills development aspects of the graduate program; act as a resource for professional and community connections for personal and professional development; act as an academic adviser for the students and mentor for the comprehensive examinations; remain current in professional area of interest and participate in professional societies and activities, participate in all assigned, required, as well as other related professional services and activities in the MHSA Program: coordinate the simulation-based learning components of the Program curricula.

Salary Range:   $100,000 - $150,000

Education: Completion of an accredited program in Anesthesiologist Assistant, master’s degree or higher, with relevant experience in teaching. 

Licensure: Professional certification as an Anesthesiologist Assistant through the National Commission for the Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA); valid professional state license in good standing.
